For more than 120 Years, Alliance people have been focused on Jesus. He alone is our Savior, Sanctifier, Healer, and Coming King. We desire to see every man, woman, and child come to a personal relationship with Him.

We believe the local church is God’s instrument for bringing the message of Jesus to the whole earth. Because of that we focus our efforts and resources into developing dynamic, healthy local churches—in the United States and across the world. We work to establish communities of Christ that will multiply themselves, resulting in self-sustaining, evangelical churches within the reach of all people.

Dr. A.B. Simpson founded the Alliance in the late 1800s after witnessing the physical and spiritual plight of New York City’s homeless, downtrodden, and marginalized populations. Simpson devoted his life to sharing Jesus’ light—in word and deed—with the city and, ultimately, the nations. Today, there are more than 2,000 Alliance churches in the United States, and approximately 20,000 fellowships in 81 countries around the world with nearly 5 million Christians calling themselves “Alliance.”The U.S. Alliance is part of a Christ-centered global movement of more than 6 million strong. Chambersburg Alliance Church was started in 1965 by people inspired by Jesus’ love who were passionate to bring the good news about Jesus to our community and world. We continue this rich legacy of shining the light of Christ in dark and hard places to bring real hope and help to all people.

In The Alliance, we believe that our mission blends both the concept of being and doing. Our lives are transformed by being with Jesus and sitting at His feet. As we grow in relationship with Him, we desire to know Him more deeply as Savior, Sanctifier, Healer, and Coming King.

We are ordinary people from all walks of life and ethnic backgrounds, obeying Jesus’ command to complete His Great Commission. Empowered by our extraordinary God, we are doing our part to go and make disciples of all nations. Whether at home or overseas, The Alliance is taking faith-filled risks to see Christ’s Kingdom multiplied throughout the world.

“The Alliance is a unique missionary denomination—a maverick movement into whose soul the Head of the Church breathed “Go!” from the very start.” — L.L. King, C&MA President (1978-1987)
